This gizmo does work pretty well. But, is it better than using one of those Coin Star machines that count your change and give you a voucher that you turn in for cash? The last time I checked, Coin Star would keep 8% of your money as a convenience fee. And the fee may have gone up to 9% by now. You lose almost 10 cents for every dollar! Ten cents may not sound like much. But it adds up real quick.
This coin sorter costs about $34. 00. If you were to use this device instead of Coin Star, you would have to put more than $430. 00 worth of coins into it before it “paid for itself”. And you will need to buy more coin wrappers. For me, it’s worth it because I always have a lot of change laying around and I don’t want to give up 8% or 9% of my money to Coin Star. . . every time I use it. Plus, this thing is kinda fun to use. It coaxes you to convert your loose change into green cash. And it can be used to teach youngsters the value of money.
I am not a tightwad who counts his pennies. Far from it. I’m just trying to provide some information that will hopefully help you make a decision.

This coin machine works really great. We also ordered the coin tubes from the same mfg. and that made it work even better and easier.
Money well spent!

The sorter works relatively well. Occasionally coins fall into the wrong slots, but overall it’s not a bad machine.
